The HDH Group, Inc. opened its doors in December 1982. Each of the three founding owners brought with them long careers with national broker firms. But those firms no longer answered the needs of insurance buyers and no longer viewed those buyers as a first priority. Bryan Hondru, Joe Deutsch and Mark Horan felt there was a better way.
Since 1982, the company has grown from 6 employees to over 100 and
now stands as Pennsylvania’s largest privately, employee-owned
broker. The
speed of that growth was the result of a number of key strategic decisions.

Development of a consultative approach to Risk Management and Employee Benefits
An investment in technology that not only increased our capabilities in Employee Benefits, but found its way to controlling the costs of our clients
Opening
national and international capabilities by becoming an owner of
Assurex Global giving clients insurance resources on 6 continents
and spontaneous access to nearly 200 broker offices
Identifying key niche markets in public entities, transportation, construction,
health care, captives and committing firm resources and personnel exclusively
to that niche
Becoming an ESOP company with all employees as owners dedicated to exceeding the expectations of our clients

On a daily basis, our clients encounter routine problems as well as many that are anything but routine. Within HDH lies a resource for either. The expertise that HDH’s insurance professionals collectively offer to our clients is built from experience with national brokers, regional brokers, niche expertise, insurance company training, and our close association with the international network of Assurex. This unique combination of talent and resources makes for strong problem solving capability.
A client can rest assured that the consultative advice they receive
will be a response to their unique needs and not a “one size
fits all” approach
of expediency.
That response will include options and opinions not only of those here at HDH,
